Heidi Støre (born July 4, 1963 in Sarpsborg ) is a former Norwegian soccer player and was the captain of the women's national team that won the 1995 World Cup.

Career

Støre played for Sprint / Jeløy SK from 1979 to 1984 , which won the first Norwegian women's championship in 1984 . She also played for Trollhättans IF in Sweden, Kolbotn IL (Norway), Nikko (Japan) and Athene Moss (Norway), the successor to Sprint-Jeløy.

National team

Støre played their first international match on July 10, 1980 at the age of 17 in a 4-0 draw against Denmark in the Nordic Football Championship . She won her first major title in 1987 when the Norwegians became European champions for the first time . In 1988 she won the unofficial world championship with Norway and was elected to the Allstar team. Three years later she and her team reached the final of the first official women's World Cup , but lost it to the USA . A year later, she played the game against the Netherlands on November 7, 1992 in the quarter-finals of qualifying for the European Championship 1993 as the second Norwegian, her 100th international match . The Norwegians then won the European Championship for the second and last time to date. In 1994 she won the Algarve Cup , which was held for the first time with Norway , where she was the record national player with her 111th international match in the group game on March 18, 1994 and this remained until October 23, 1999. A year later she was also world champion with her team , where she was used in two group games as well as the quarter and semi-finals. Your team was qualified for the first Olympic soccer tournament at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . But it was only used in the first group game on July 21, 1996 in a 2-2 draw against Brazil .
