Heik Afheldt

Heik Afheldt (born July 22, 1937 in Insterburg , East Prussia ) is a science journalist . He was the editor of several German newspapers.

Life

Heik Afheldt studied until 1961 Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg and graduated in 1964 with the graduation to the Dr. rer. pole. from. He worked for Prognos in Basel from 1964 to 1987 , the last 10 years of which as Chairman of the Management Board. He was then editor of Wirtschaftswoche , Handelsblatt (1998–2002) and Berliner Tagesspiegel (1998–2002) as well as economic journalistic advisor to the weekly newspaper Die Zeit .

Afheldt has been honorary professor at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art since 2006 . He was chairman of the Mart Stam Society, the association for the promotion of the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art, and established the Mart Stam Foundation for Art + Design (spelling: mart stam foundation for art + design) for the same purpose. He has been a member of the board of the German-British Society since 2001 and was its deputy chairman from 2005 to 2008. He is deputy spokesman in the management group of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung , member of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning and a corresponding member of the Academy for Spatial Research and Regional Planning . He is the author of numerous publications and a columnist for the Tagesspiegel.

On December 16, 2004, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
