Heike Wilms-Kegel

Heike Wilms-Kegel (born October 19, 1952 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and FDP ).

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1971 at Tannenbusch High School in Bonn , Heike Wilms-Kegel began studying medicine at the University of Bonn , which she completed in 1979 with a license to practice medicine . She then worked as an assistant doctor in surgery and from 1980 to 1982 in radiology , radiation therapy and oncology . She then worked as a department doctor at the Bad Tönisstein Psychosomatic Clinic until she moved into the Bundestag . After leaving the Bundestag, Wilms-Kegel became director of CARE Germany in Moscow; afterwards she headed the "Health Policy and Communication" department at Upjohn GmbH in Heppenheim from 1991 to mid-1997 . In 1997 she became the managing director of the German Spa Association.

Heike Wilms-Kegel became a member of the Green Party in 1983 . From 1987 to 1990 she was a member of the German Bundestag for her party . It moved into parliament via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list . There she was chair of the committee on youth, family, women and health and spokeswoman for health policy for her group. After the federal election in 1990, she switched to the FDP .
