The topping-out ceremony was celebrated on December 21, 1955. The inauguration was on November 18, 1956. The Evangelical Parish of Neckarsulm and the Gustav-Adolf-Verein contributed to the construction costs . The Audi factory in Neckarsulm donated DM 10,000 for the purchase of a church organ . In the Heilig-Geist-Kirche a second Protestant pastor was established in Neckarsulm next to the town parish .

description

The Holy Spirit Church was built as a multifunctional church in a so-called bell shape . The church was designed for 350 visitors, with an optional additional 100 seats for festive services. Their facility enables both church services with a view towards the altar as well as events with a view towards the podium on the opposite front side, which can also be separated as a community hall by a folding wall. A youth room , the sacristy , a kitchen and toilets were built in the basement .

The altar of the church consists of three individual stone blocks made of Maulbronn shell limestone , which rest on a bench made of red sandstone . Pulpit and font are also carved from shell limestone. The copper cover of the baptismal font and the crucifix defining the chancel are by Gottfried Gruner . The stained glass windows of the church were created by Christian Oehler from Stuttgart. They show scenes from the Old and New Testaments , with scenes such as the exodus from Egypt and the homecoming of the prodigal son referring to the personal history of the parishioners at the time, who mostly came to Neckarsulm as refugees or expellees and then the need for one in general established a new district.
