history

In 1955 the newly built Heilig Kreuz church was consecrated after Catholic refugees and displaced persons had settled in the area around Stadthagen, which has been evangelical since the Reformation , as a result of the Second World War .

It was at times a branch church of the parish of St. Joseph in Stadthagen , but at times also an independent parish with a branch church of St. Bartholomew in Nienstädt. On September 1, 2008, the parish Heilig Kreuz was dissolved and the parish of St. Joseph in Stadthagen was attached.

On November 20, 2010 the profanation by Vicar General Werner Schreer took place , the church building was demolished in November 2011.

The church was located behind the rectory on the street, in the rear area of the Bergkrug 11 property (formerly Helpsen No. 28), around 59 meters above sea level . It was built as a solid structure with a cross-crowned entrance tower.
