Most Holy Trinity (Schwanstetten)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Church of the Holy Trinity in the Schwandetten district of Schwand is a Roman Catholic branch church of the parish Heilig Kreuz, Rednitzhembach .

history

In 1953 the first Trinity Church was built for around 300 Catholics and consecrated on June 14, 1953 by Cathedral Capitular Mader. A cemetery was built next to it. From December 1, 1957, Johann Spies was pastor of the Schwand Curate . On April 28, 1963, the Plöckendorf Curate was elevated to a parish and Schwand and Leerstetten were assigned to it. Since the number of Catholics had already risen to 1,543 Catholics in 1975 due to the expellees , the foundation stone for a new building was laid on September 25, 1977 and a modern church center was built. The plans came from the architect couple Adolf and Helga Schnierle from Munich - Obermenzing . On June 25, 1978, the church was consecrated by Bishop Alois Brems .

layout

The outside walls of the church are bricked. The roof beams lead to a wooden column in the middle of the church, which also houses the tabernacle .

In the church there are figures of the Coronation of Mary by the Most Holy Trinity , Saint Elizabeth , Saint Catherine , Saint Margaret and Saint Barbara , which come from the dissolution of the church. They were made around 1500 and belong to the Diocesan Museum in Eichstätt. A cross over two meters high hangs behind the altar. In 1978 the church received four bells . Immediately adjacent is a cemetery.
