Heino Apel

Heino Apel (* 1942 in Gerstungen ) is a German education , development and environmental economist .

Life

Heino Apel was born in Thuringia in 1942 . He lived in the GDR until 1956 , then moved to Frankfurt am Main . From 1964 to 1971 he studied mathematics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main (diploma). In 1977 he started working at the Faculty of Economics with a dissertation on the simulation of socio-economic relationships. Criticism and modification of "System Dynamics" to the Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

He was then a Research Fellow at the Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and for the MAB program in Germany and Switzerland. He was also a member of the model group of the Enquete Commission of the German Bundestag Future Nuclear Energy Policy . Several GTZ development policy research projects took him to India, Thailand and Zimbabwe. From 1986 to 2007 he was a research assistant at the German Institute for Adult Education in Bonn and worked as part of the future workshops . He taught a. a. in teaching position at the Universities of Marburg and Tübingen and since 2000 at the University of Rostock . In addition, he has been a juror at the federal environmental competition for several years .

From 2004 to 2008, Apel was chairman of the Education for Sustainable Development Commission of the German Society for Educational Science (DGFE).

family

Heino Apel is married for the second time and has two sons. His son Niko Apel (* 1978) is the director and stepson of the Green politician Daniel Cohn-Bendit .
