Heinrich Aemilius August Danz

Heinrich Aemilius August Danz , also Heinrich Emil August Danz , (born December 11, 1806 in Jena , † May 17, 1881 ibid) was a German legal scholar.
Life
Danz was born in Jena in 1806 as the son of the theologian and church historian Johann Traugott Leberecht Danz . From 1820 he attended the Wilhelm-Ernst-Gymnasium in Weimar and began studying law at the University of Jena in 1826 . In the field of law were Karl Wilhelm Schmid , Wilhelm von Schröter , Friedrich Ortloff and Christoph Martin . He also attended the medical lectures of Johann Christian Stark the Younger , he completed historical studies with Heinrich Luden , he attended philological lectures with Heinrich Karl Eichstädt and he got to know Greek and Roman antiquities from Ferdinand Gotthelf Hand . Three years later he continued his studies with Friedrich Carl von Savigny , Eduard Gans and Karl Gustav Homeyer at the University of Berlin .
Returning to Jena, he received his doctorate in law on August 3, 1831, completed his habilitation on September 5 of the same year at the Jena University and initially worked as a private lecturer. On September 2, 1834, he became an associate professor of law in Jena, in 1842 a full honorary professor and finally on October 5, 1843 a full professor of law, making him a member and councilor at the Higher Appeal Court. In the same year Danz was introduced to the Senate of the University of Jena. On July 26, 1861, Danz became full professor of the law faculty in Jena. He resigned from the Higher Appeal Court when it was dissolved on October 1, 1879. Until his death in 1881 he held the dean's office of the Faculty of Law 16 times and was rector of the Alma Mater in the winter semesters 1847, 1862, 1873 and in the summer semester 1857 .
