Heinrich Blume , actually Heinrich Blum (born April 25, 1788 in Berlin ; † November 2, 1856 there ) was a German opera singer ( baritone ) and actor.

Life

His family intended for the legal civil service, but was able to assert himself with his career aspiration at the theater. He received singing training from the bassist of the National Theater Johann Georg Gern and acting lessons from August Wilhelm Iffland .

In 1808, Blume made his debut as a singer at the Royal Court Opera . His time there was repeatedly interrupted by tours and guest tours to France, Holland, Great Britain and Tsarist Russia. Blume lived in a small house in the idyll of Valentinswerder , the second largest island in Lake Tegel . In bad weather it often happened that the court actor Blume was late. King Friedrich Wilhelm III. couldn't stand being unpunctual and therefore gave Blume the royal hunting lodge in Saatwinkel (with better transport connections).

The first of Franz Krüger's monumental parade pictures showed Blume surrounded by Berlin celebrities from cultural life with actress Karoline Bauer on her arm during the parade on Opernplatz on the occasion of Grand Duke Nikolaus' visit to Berlin in 1822.

From 1852 to 1854, Blume worked as a director at the Berlin Opera . Blume then withdrew from the theater and died in Berlin at the age of 68.
