Heinrich Boether

Heinrich Boether (born May 27, 1856 in Avendorf ; † June 2, 1927 in Hanover ) was a German anatomist , histologist , embryologist , pharmacologist and zoologist , lecturer and director of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover and a secret councilor .

Life

On July 1, 1886, Heinrich Boether took up a position as acting teacher at what was then the Royal Veterinary School in Hanover, but in the same year took over as director of the entire educational institution, which was appointed to the university in the following year 1887 .

Under the direction of Boether, who is considered the founder of anatomical research in Hanover and to whom the Anatomical Institute of the Veterinary University owes the establishment of its teaching collection, the university moved from Clevertor to its new location on Misburger Damm (today: Bischofsholer Damm ).

Heinrich Boether held his leading position until 1924.
