Heinrich Christian Tielcke

Heinrich Christian Tielcke also: Tielke, Tielcken, Tielken also: Henricus Christophorus (born August 24, 1659 in Rederank ; † October 16, 1711 in Rostock ) was a German Lutheran theologian and philosopher.

Life

Heinrich Christian Tielcke was a son of Johann Tielcke, brewer and pawnbroker at Gut Rederanck, and his wife Margarethe, née. from Hahn. Already enrolled at the University of Rostock in 1672 , he began his theology and law studies there in 1677 and moved to the University of Wittenberg in 1678 , where in the same year he received his doctorate for Magister lib. art. took place. In 1680 he was accepted into the Philosophical Faculty in Rostock and worked as a private lecturer. In 1691 he completed his theological and in 1692 his legal exam. Also in 1692 he was appointed ducal full professor of eloquence in Rostock. 1693 he received his doctorate at the University of Greifswald Dr. phil. From 1700 he was administrator of the academic bursary . Between 1694 and 1710 he was dean of the Philosophical Faculty nine times, in 1706/07 Prokanzler, 1695 and 1708 Rector and 1707-1709 librarian of the Academic Library.

Tielcke held numerous reception, birthday and funeral speeches on behalf of the university for ducal visitors and bereavement as well as on ducal birthdays. In 1708 he gave a German speech on the occasion of the marriage of Duchess Sophie Luise of Mecklenburg-Schwerin to King Friedrich I of Prussia .

Heinrich Christian Tielcke was married from December 5, 1693 to Katharina Dorothea Giese († 1719), daughter of the Parchim mayor Christian Giese and his wife Anna Niesindt. Tielcke's older brother was Johann Joachim Tielcke (1648–1724), Dr, jur., Syndicus, councilor and mayor in Rostock.
