Heinrich Dethloff (born October 9, 1883 in Nienhagen , † April 8, 1963 in Schwerin ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school, which he left without a degree, Dethloff completed an apprenticeship and then worked as a correspondent and inspection officer. From 1903 to 1919 he worked for fire insurance companies in Rostock , Berlin and Hamburg , initially as an assistant, later as managing director and authorized signatory. Before 1914 he was for a long time shop steward and district chairman of the German National Trade Aid Association for Mecklenburg-East and a member of the employee insurance committee. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Dethloff joined the SPD, was chairman of the Schwerin soldiers' council in November 1918 and served as finance minister in the government of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin led by Prime Minister Hugo Wendorff from November 14, 1918 to August 15, 1919 .
