Life and end of life
Jasper von Buchwaldt was already 45 years old when he became the successor to the Jersbek and Stegen estates in 1695. He put "in view of my weak physical constitution and the uncertain hour of death" in his will of March 18, 1704, which was drawn up "on his Jersbek estate ... up there in the hall in the presence of seven witnesses", i.e. shortly before the 2nd Marriage of his only daughter, his "beloved daughter, Mrs. Anna Margaretha, widowed Majorin Rantzauin" as sole heir. He died in the first half of 1705. "With him, the Jersbek branch of the family died out of the male line, which had held the old mansions of Jersbek and Stegen for 230 years, the longest and whose name is closely intertwined with their history".
