Heinrich Gottfried Scheidemantel

Heinrich Gottfried Scheidemantel (born September 15, 1739 in Gotha , † January 1, 1788 in Stuttgart ) was a German legal scholar and university professor .

Life

Scheidemantel, the son of a doctor , attended the Gotha high school , then went to the University of Jena , where he mainly studied law and history. During his studies he became secretary at the Latin Society in Jena. In 1765 he was with the dissertation de Successione illustrium tanquam privatorum in Allodia to Dr. iur. PhD . At the same time he also received a master's degree in philosophy . He completed his habilitation at the university and became an associate professor of feudal law in 1769 , a full surplus professor in 1772, and finally a full professor in 1782 .

Scheidemantel followed a call from Jena to Stuttgart in 1784 . There he became professor of rights at the High Charles School and ducal government councilor . However, his work in Stuttgart was short-lived. He died in office less than four years after taking office.
