Heinrich Höcker

Heinrich bumps (* 15. April 1886 in Herford ; † 25. February 1962 ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life and work

Höcker, who was of Protestant faith, worked as an independent master painter until 1919. In the Weimar Republic he initially worked full-time for the SPD. Since 1932 he was the owner of a construction and furniture joinery.

Political party

Höcker joined the SPD in 1905. In the 1920s he was chairman of the SPD sub-district of Herford until 1933. After 1945 he was a member of the SPD's Eastern Westphalia regional committee and was temporarily also a member of the party's control commission. In addition, was again sub-district chairman in Herford.

MP

From 1919 to 1933 Höcker was a member of the Herford City Council. In 1932/33 he was also a member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia . From May 6 to June 23, 1933 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament .

From 1947 to 1950, Höcker was a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia , and from 1947/1948 also a member of the zonal advisory board for the Bizone . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1949 to 1961. He was always directly elected in the constituency of Herford-City and -Land . From 1949 to October 5, 1956, he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for electoral testing and immunity, and then chairman until the end of the 1957 legislative period . From 1961 until his death he was again a member of the Herford city council.

Höcker was mayor of the city of Herford from 1946 to 1961 , having been mayor since 1945.
