Heinrich Hahn (historian)

Heinrich Martin Ludwig Hahn (born March 10, 1829 in Breslau ; † 1919 ) was a German historian , high school teacher and author .

Life

The son of the businessman Martin Hahn attended the Maria-Magdalenen-Gymnasium in Breslau, where he graduated from high school on March 10, 1849. He then studied history at the Universities of Breslau and Berlin . On December 29, 1853 he received his doctorate in Breslau. Until Michaelis 1855 he worked as a private tutor on Radaxdorf (near Leuthen ). He then passed the “pro facultate docendi” exam and, from Easter 1856 to 1857, the probationary year at the Luisenstädtische Realschule in Berlin. From 1857 to 1858 he acted as a substitute at the Potsdam grammar school on behalf of the Royal School College . Finally he found a job at the Friedrichswerder Gymnasium in Berlin. From Easter 1861 he taught at the Luisenstädtische Realschule.

In 1907 and 1913 Hahn donated his collection on the history of the Carolingians to the Berlin city library .
