from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich IV. Von Neuhaus (also Heinrich IV. Von Hradec , in Czech Jindřich IV. Z Hradce ; born April 13, 1442 , † January 17, 1507 ) was 1485–1503 High Chamberlain of Bohemia and 1503–1507 Lord Count of Prague. He came from the Telsch line of the Lords of Neuhaus .

Life

His parents were Johann von Neuhaus auf Teltsch (1419–1451) and Katharina von Sternberg . After Ulrich von Neuhaus, a son of Meinhard von Neuhaus , died in 1453 without male descendants, his possessions passed to Heinrich and his brother Herrmann, who, however, died in 1464 at a young age. After reaching the age of majority, Heinrich became regent of the now only line of the Lords of Neuhaus in 1463. He managed to reduce the debt he had taken on. In addition, he was able to round off and expand his dominion by acquiring twelve smaller manors, so that he was one of the largest landowners in Bohemia and Moravia . In his possession were among others Neuhaus , Teltsch, Počátky and Slavonice as well as numerous villages and towns from the associated lordships.

Heinrich resided at Neuhaus Castle . He was one of the most important members of the von Neuhaus family and held high state offices. 1485–1503 he was Supreme Chamberlain of Bohemia, 1503–1507 Oberstburggraf von Prague. On January 17, 1507, he had a fatal accident while hunting.
