Heinrich Joseph Koulen

Heinrich Joseph Koulen , also Heinrich Josef Koulen (born February 2, 1852 in Kirchhoven , † October 19, 1922 in Heinsberg ) was a German sculptor.

Life

Koulen was trained at sculpture studios in Roermond and at the Academy in Antwerp . Years of traveling took him through the Netherlands, Belgium and France. After living in Lille for a long time , he moved to Heinsberg. He mainly created works of Christian art .
He had his studio at Josefstrasse 9.
Apprentices included Hein Minkenberg , later art professor at the Aachen School of Applied Arts, and his nephew Jupp Koulen , sculptor and painter.

  • Heinsberg , nail figure Iron Johann. Summer 1916. Revised winter 1916/17.
  • St. Gangolf (Heinsberg) , Marienaltar (replica of the Pacher altar in the parish church of Sankt Wolfgang im Salzkammergut (Upper Austria)), triumphal cross, Mariahilf and baptismal altar, benches in the central nave, crucifixion group in the parish altar, figures of St. Gangolphus, St. Anna Selbdritt in the high altar, frame of the Stations of the Cross, angels at the choir entrance, St. Aloysius, St. Agnes.
