Heinrich Kotzolt

Heinrich Kotzolt (born August 26, 1814 in Schnellewalde , Silesia , † July 2, 1881 in Berlin ) was a German singer and choir conductor.

Life

As a boy soloist, he sang the alto part in Anton Radziwiłł's cantata on Faust in the Poznan Cathedral in 1826 . A tragedy. In the change of voice , his voice developed for bass . He went to Breslau and sang at the Singakademie , which opened in 1825, under Johann Theodor Mosewius . In 1835 he was reciprocated in the Corps Borussia Breslau . In 1836 he moved to the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin , of which he was a member from 1837 to 1862. In Berlin and Danzig he took on a few roles at the Königsstädtisches Theater and the Theater am Kohlenmarkt (1848). As a concert singer he toured East Prussia and West Prussia in 1842 . In 1843 he became the first bassist in the Berlin Cathedral Choir . In 1860 he was the conductor of the cathedral choir. In 1866 he was appointed Royal Prussian Music Director. In Berlin he also worked as a respected singing teacher .
