Heinrich Lauterbach (born September 24, 1925 in Neunkirchen , † June 26, 1996 in Wiesbaden ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school in Wuppertal-Barmen , Lauterbach was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1943 and then took part in the Second World War as a soldier . During the war he was used in both the navy and the army . Most recently, he was wounded and taken into Soviet captivity, from which he was released in 1945.

Lauterbach continued his school education after returning from captivity. After graduating from high school in Frankfurt am Main in 1946 , he completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, which he completed in 1948 with the skilled worker examination. He then began studying history, German literature, geography and philosophy at the universities of Mainz and Frankfurt am Main , which he completed in 1954 with the first and in 1956 with the second state examination. This was followed by a job as an assessor at the Goetheschule in Neu-Isenburg .

Lauterbach entered the grammar school service as a teacher in 1959 and initially worked as a teacher at the Lichtenberg School in Darmstadt . In 1966 he moved back to the Goetheschule in Neu-Isenburg, where he became the headmaster of the school. From 1970 to 1974 he then worked as the director of the Lichtenberg School in Darmstadt . In addition, from 1964 to 1971 he was deputy chairman of the Hessian Philologists Association. From 1968 to 1982 he was also a member of the supervisory board of the workers' building association in Darmstadt.

Political party

Lauterbach joined the CDU and was temporarily deputy chairman of the CDU district association Darmstadt-Stadt.

MP

Lauterbach was from 1964 to 1968 and from 1972 to 1989 council member of the city of Darmstadt and there since 1972 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1974 until his resignation on April 27, 1987. He was elected in the state elections in 1974 , 1978 and 1982 in the constituency of Darmstadt-Stadt II and in the state elections in 1983 and 1987 via the CDU state list. Here he was cultural policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group from 1976 to 1987.

Public offices

Lauterbach was an honorary city councilor in Darmstadt from 1968 to 1972. From 1987 to 1989 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture in the government of the State of Hesse led by Prime Minister Walter Wallmann . In 1990/91 he worked as a representative of the Hessian Ministry of Culture for cooperation with the Thuringian school system.
