Heinrich Raupp

Heinrich Raupp (born December 17, 1836 in Karlsruhe , † June 20, 1914 in Heilbronn ) was a German engineer and director of the municipal gas and water works in Heilbronn .

Education and professional career

Heinrich Raupp, son of the ore caster and gas works builder of the same name, studied at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe from 1856 to 1857 and became a member of the Teutonia fraternity . From April 1857 he devoted himself to building gas works with his father and brother August Raupp . He was involved in the construction of the gasworks in Saarbrücken in 1857, in Lahr in 1858/59, in Schaffhausen (Saar) in 1860, in Konstanz in 1861, in Ravensburg in 1862, in Saargemünd in 1863 and in Neunkirchen (Saar) in 1864.

From 1865 to 1868 Raupp was operations manager of the gas works in Mannheim and Mainz . In 1868 he became co-owner and director of the Heilbronn gasworks. He remained co-owner until 1883, when the gasworks became the property of the city, and director until 1907.
