Heinrich Salomon
Heinrich Salomon (born September 3, 1825 in Leipzig , † November 5, 1903 in Berlin ) was a German opera singer ( bass ).
Life
Salomon first studied violin at the Leipzig Conservatory from 1842 and then worked in his hometown of Leipzig, at the Theater an der Wien , at the Court Theater in Munich and finally came to Berlin, where he was engaged at the royal court opera from 1853 to 1889 . His main roles included Sarastro , Leporello and Méphistophélès . In contrast to many of his colleagues, Heinrich Salomon was not only considered a good singer, but also an excellent performer.
In addition, Salomon also appeared as a concert singer. From May 15 to 17, 1853, he took part in the 31st Lower Rhine Music Festival in Düsseldorf , which was directed by Ferdinand Hiller , Robert Schumann and Julius Tausch .
