Heinrich Sander (politician)

Heinrich Sander (born July 30, 1910 in Golmbach ; † September 19, 1982 in Stadtoldendorf ) was a German farmer and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

Sander was born the son of a farmer. After attending grammar school in Holzminden , he completed an apprenticeship at the agricultural schools in Helmstedt . In 1938 he took over his father's farm, which he expanded into a recognized training company. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier .

Since 1947, Sander was chairman of the vegetable growing committee and a member of the main committee for agriculture and plant protection of the German Agricultural Society . He was also a member of the Federal Committee for Fruit and Vegetables at the German Farmers' Association (DBV) and a member of various committees and boards of trustees of the Chamber of Agriculture and the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests. In addition, he was a board member of the Holzmindener Kreisverband des Niedersächsischen Landvolkes .

His son Hans-Heinrich Sander (FDP) was Environment Minister of Lower Saxony from 2003 to 2012.

Political party

Sander joined the FDP after 1945 and was the Liberals chairman of the Lower Saxony agricultural committee and a member of the federal agricultural committee.

MP

After 1945, Sander was a member of the Holzminden district council . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 to 1969. He was always drawn into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list.
