Heinrich Sattler (musician)

Heinrich Sattler (born April 3, 1811 in Quedlinburg , † October 17, 1891 in Braunschweig ; also: Johann Heinrich Ferdinand Sattler ) was a German organist and publicist .

Life

Sattler was a student of W. Liebau in Quedlinburg and of Johann Nepomuk Hummel in Weimar, a student of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart . In 1838 he worked as an organist in Blankenburg . In 1861 he was appointed as a seminar music teacher in Oldenburg , where he also emerged as a theoretician and composer . Among other things, he wrote a musical score called Theoretical-Practical Organ School and the text Die Orgel . In addition, he had written a theory of harmony and a school for school singing . His compositions included school, organ and choral works. Inspired by his friendship with his teacher Johann Nepomuk Hummel, he wrote a book in 1856 about memories of Mozart's life and works .
