Heinrich Heinen

Heinrich Heinen , born Schaaf (born March 17, 1921 in Niederzier ; † March 12, 2008 in Heimbach-Hasenfeld ) was a German newspaper publisher and journalist .

Life

Due to the war, he passed the Abitur twice, in 1939 and 1947, at the Stiftisches Gymnasium in Düren . From 1939 to 1945 he was a soldier, most recently as a first lieutenant at sea with the naval aviation. After the war he studied history , philosophy and comparative religious studies in Heidelberg and Bonn with a doctorate . From 1950 he volunteered at the Bergische Landeszeitung , in 1952 he came to the Kölnische / Bonner Rundschau in Cologne. In 1954 he married Marianne Heinen, the daughter of the founder of the Rundschau, Reinhold Heinen (1894–1969). From this he had been adopted in order to keep the publisher's name Heinen.

In 1964 he became co-editor and 1969 sole editor of the Rundschau. From 1966 to 1982 he was managing director of the companies of the Rundschau-Haus, from 1982 to 1999 a member of the board of directors .

Heinen was an honorary member of the Catholic student union Unitas-Breslau in Cologne in the KV .
