Life

Heinrich Schlotermann received his training at the Art Academy in Dresden and at the Academy of Arts in Berlin with Eugen Bracht (1842–1921). From the turn of the century, Schlotermann regularly sent his works to the Great Berlin Art Exhibition . In 1895 he bought the Büdnerei B 9 (today: Bernhard-Seitz-Weg 13) in Althagen and belonged to Paul Müller-Kaempff (1861–1941), Elisabeth von Eicken (1862–1940), Friedrich Wachenhusen (1859–1925) and Anna Gerresheim (1852–1921) to the founding generation of the Ahrenshoop artists' colony . Since 1908 he was a member of the Association of Berlin Artists . After the First World War and the inflation , the painter's traces are lost; the last clues are the artist's Berlin residence in the catalog for the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1922 and the information in the Berlin address books up to 1927.
