Heinrich Vielhaber

Heinrich Gustav Vielhaber (born July 21, 1868 in Moers ; † October 29, 1940 in Essen ) was a German lawyer , city councilor and provincial parliament member and board member of several companies.

Live and act

After attending high school in Moers and graduating from high school in 1886, Vielhaber studied law in Bonn and Berlin until 1889 . In 1890 he worked as a trainee lawyer and in 1895 as a court assessor . He and his wife Else had four children: Berta (* 1901), Marianne (* 1903), Helene (* 1904) and Otto (* 1906).

On December 1, 1895 he joined the Krupp company, from 1903 Friedrich Krupp AG , where he became an authorized signatory in 1905 and a deputy director in 1909. A year later he became a member of the board of directors, where he was mainly responsible for workers' and salaried employees and social institutions, creating a mixed-economy housing system. In 1925 he left the Krupp board and worked as a lawyer and notary. However, he always remained connected to the Krupp company and was a member of the supervisory board until his death.

In addition, Vielhaber was a member of the mining board of the Emscher-Lippe collieries , Vereinigte Helene & Amalie and Vereinigte Constantin der Große . He was also a member of the main committee of the Reich Association of German Industry , the Association of German Iron and Steel Industrialists and the Association for the Protection of Common Economic Interests in Rhineland and Westphalia . He was a member of the presidency of the Association of German Employers 'Associations , of the Metallurgy and Rolling Mills Trade Association in Essen, and from 1926 to 1938 he was a member of the board of the Association of Commercial Employers' Liability Insurance Associations in Berlin.

On January 1, 1913, he became a city councilor for the city of Essen and remained so until the city parliament was dissolved on February 4, 1933. He was most recently a member of the German People's Party . From November 29, 1925 to 1933 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Rhine Province .

Heinrich Vielhaber was buried in Essen at the Bredeney cemetery.
