Heinrich Wieschebrink

Heinrich Wieschebrink (born October 25, 1852 in Düsseldorf , † September 29, 1885 in Kassel ) was a German genre and portrait painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Wieschebrink, son of the Düsseldorf genre painter Franz Wieschebrink , also studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1871 to 1875 . From August 14, 1871, the history and portrait painter Julius Roeting was his teacher there. From 1872 to 1873 he attended Wilhelm Lotz's architecture class . From 1874 to 1875 he took lessons from the portrait painter Karl Rudolf Sohn . From 1877 to 1885 he was a member of the artists' association Malkasten . In 1882 Wieschebrink, Louis Kolitz , Hermann Knackfuß and Joseph Scheurenberg, together with the architect Hugo Schneider, were commissioned to design the staircase in the court wing of the new Kassel government and justice building. As a result of his death, he was no longer able to take up a professorship at the Kassel Art Academy , to which he had been appointed in 1885.
