Life

Wigger was born in Sendschotten near Drolshagen . After studying theology, he worked as a pastor in Brilon and Hörde . During his tenure in Hörde, the dilapidated collegiate church was demolished in 1864 and the new collegiate church was built in the Gothic style. In 1892 Wigger came to Paderborn as cathedral capitular and vicar general because Bishop Hubert Theophil Simar had appointed the 65-year-old Heinrich Wigger as his vicar general on May 1, 1892. Eight years later he took over the office of provost of the cathedral in the city . On the occasion of his 50th jubilee as a priest, Heinrich Wigger was made an honorary citizen of the city of Paderborn on August 29, 1903, following a resolution by the city council. He died in Paderborn in 1908.
