Jürgen Bärsch

Jürgen Bärsch (born June 6, 1959 in Oberhausen ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian , diocesan priest and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Jürgen Bärsch studied Catholic theology in Bochum , Freiburg im Breisgau and Münster from 1979 to 1984 . On 16 May 1986 he was a priest of the diocese of Essen ordained and was from May 1986 to May 1990 Kaplan in Bochum.

1990 Bärsch began a doctoral program and worked as an assistant at the Institute of Liturgical Studies at the Theological Faculty of Trier and as an assistant in the Scientific Department of the German Liturgical Institute . From April 1994 to May 1998 he worked as a sub-rain in the St. Ludgerus Bochum seminary . On 27 May 1995 he was the Faculty of Theology of Trier with a thesis on The celebration of Easter circuit in the pen food according to the testimony of the Liber full professor PhD . From 1995 to 2003 he continued his activity at the seminary in Bochum as a lecturer in liturgy .

In December 2002 he succeeded Alfred Pothmann as director of the Institute for Research on Church History of the Diocese of Essen, but in March 2003 he switched to the professorship for liturgical science at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt .
