Sendschotten is a village in the southern Sauerland . It forms a locality and the local authority district 23 Sendschotten of the city of Drolshagen in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Olpe . The place has 94 inhabitants.

Sendschotten is about two kilometers north of the center of Drolshagen and about six kilometers west-northwest of Olpe and the southern foothills of the Bigge lake . The landscape is strongly characterized by farms and the hills of the southwestern Sauerland.

The catholic chapel of St. Michael , which was built in 1871 under the direction of Arnold Güldenpfennig as a neo-Gothic plastered building, is worth seeing . The chapel is the starting point for the traditional Sendschotter approach , a procession to the Visitation of the Virgin Mary that may have taken place since 1705 .

The best known son of the village is probably the Catholic priest Heinrich Wigger , who became vicar general of the diocese of Paderborn in 1892 and was made an honorary citizen of Paderborn in 1903 .
