Heinrich Will (politician)

Heinrich (Jacob) Will (born January 12, 1808 in Odernheim ; † April 26, 1876 in Homburg before the height ) was a Hessian-Homburg politician and former member of the state parliament of Hesse-Homburg .

education and profession

After attending elementary school in Staudernheim , the Progymnasium in Sobernheim and the grammar school in Kreuznach , Will studied law in Heidelberg and in 1830, after graduating in Hesse-Homburg, was a legal candidate. After the state examination in 1831 he became a legal attorney. He made a career in the state administration and became office secretary in 1833, government assessor in 1835 and councilor in 1841. In 1861 he became director of the first deputation of the state government with the title of Privy Councilor.

politics

In the election for the first Landtag of Hesse-Homburg, Heinrich Will was elected to the Landtag for the constituency of Homburg III. After the dissolution of the state parliament, Will was a member and chairman of the district council and the state committee.

Between 1868 and 1873 Heinrich Will was a member of the Nassau municipal parliament for the Obertaunus district . He was on the finance committee there.

After the annexation by Prussia

After the annexation of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Homburg by Prussia, Heinrich Will decided against taking over the Prussian civil service and retired in 1867.

As a retiree, he worked on a collection of the laws of Hessen-Homburg and was active on the board of the city library and the Protestant church of Bad Homburg.

family

Heinrich Will was the son of Hesse-Homburg Ober schultheißen von Staudernheim Heinrich Philipp Will (January 9, 1782– October 22, 1846). Political work was a tradition in the family: his father Heinrich Will was also Maire (mayor) in Staudernheim. Heinrich Jacob Will's mother was Henriette Will, née Tisch (born November 16, 1782 in Odernheim – February 22, 1860), the daughter of a tailor.

Heinrich Will married Elisabeth Jubitz on November 5, 1838 in Homburg (* November 27, 1820).
