Henry XI. (* around 1429 to 1435; † February 22, 1476 ) was Duke of Glogau and of Crossen and Freystadt from 1469 to 1476 . With him the direct Glogau line of the Silesian Piasts died out .

Life

Henry XI. Parents were Duke Heinrich IX. von Glogau and Hedwig, daughter of Duke Konrad III. from Oels . After the death of his father in 1467, Heinrich, who had no other siblings, inherited his territory. They consisted of the ducal part of Glogau and the sub-duchies of Crossen and Freystadt, which were spun off from this . In addition, he was enfeoffed by the Bohemian (counter) king Matthias Corvinus , who had conquered Silesia in the same year, with the royal share of Glogau, although this had been pledged to the dukes of Teschen since 1384 and Margareta von Cilli , the duke's widow, since 1460 Wladislaus , who reigned over this portion.

On October 11, 1472, Heinrich XI, then over 40 years old, married. with Barbara von Brandenburg , only eight years old , a daughter of Elector Albrecht Achilles . After Heinrich XI. The war of succession was only settled on September 20, 1482 with the Peace of Kamenz .
