Heinrich Ferdinand von Helldorff (born September 2, 1799 in Merseburg , † November 23, 1873 in Bedra ) was a German landowner , Prussian district administrator and politician.

He came from the Meissen noble family von Helldorff and was the son of the landowner and Saxon canon governor Ferdinand Heinrich von Helldorff (1764-1815) and Sophie Countess von Hohenthal (1777-1856).

Helldorff's first marriage was on May 16, 1827 in Weimar, Julie Charlotte Countess von der Schulenburg (* July 12, 1806 in Oschersleben ; † July 13, 1844 in Bedra ), the daughter of Count Hans Günther von der Schulenburg and Caroline Freiin von Friesen .

In his second marriage, he married on May 14, 1846 in Schwerstedt Marie von Steuben (born November 26, 1823 in Eisenach ; † February 13, 1901 there), the daughter of the Grand Ducal Saxon Chamberlain Georg von Steuben and Adelheid von Kracht.

His children included the Prussian District Administrator Karl von Helldorff (1828–1895), the Prussian Chamberlain and District Administrator Otto von Helldorff (1833–1908) and the Prussian District Administrator Ferdinand von Helldorff (1835–1893).

Life

Helldorff studied in Heidelberg and founded the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg there . He was a landowner on Bedra, Baumersroda and Petzkendorf. Initially he was General Fire Law Firm Director. In 1834 he became district administrator of the Querfurt district in the administrative district of Merseburg in the Prussian province of Saxony and successor to the late William Freiherr von Danckelmann . He administered this office until 1840. He was general director of the state fire society of the Duchy of Saxony and also a member of the Prussian manor house until 1873 .
