The country house at Heinrichstraße 18 is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The country house was built in 1865 - on the grounds of the Riedesel property - for captain Wilhelm Ferdinand Hahn . Stylistically, the two-storey , symmetrically structured building belongs to late classicism .
Typical details of the old country house are:
- The three-axis central section is emphasized by a front porch and a balcony resting on cast iron supports
- a surrounding belt and cornice emphasize the horizontal
- the windows are emphasized by roofs and simply structured parapet areas
Two small buildings on the rear part of the property have also been preserved; as well as part of the garden and the enclosure . The country house is crowned by a hipped roof with dormer window.
Monument protection
The country house is a typical example of the late classicist architectural style in Darmstadt in the 19th century . For architectural and city-historical reasons, the country house is a cultural monument .
