Heinz-Peter Thiel

Heinz-Peter Thiel (* 1962 ) is a German local politician and has been a district administrator for the Vulkaneifel district since 2013 .

Career

Thiel, who was a detective and head of the police inspection in Daun, was a member of the Federal Assembly in the election of the German President in 2012 at the suggestion of the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate . On December 2nd of that year he was elected as a non-party candidate, but supported by the Free Voters , Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and the SPD with 61.3% of the votes for the district administrator of the Vulkaneifel district. He finally took over the office on April 1, 2013 from his predecessor, Heinz Onnertz, who was also independent .

Since June 2018 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of the Eifel Tourismusgesellschaft. He is also the managing director of the DRK- Kreisverband Vulkaneifel. As 2nd chairman, he is also a member of the Vulkaneifel traffic watch.

Thiel is a private cyclist at RC Prüm.
