Johann Wilhelm Römer

Johann Wilhelm Römer (born July 30, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Römer began studying law, which he completed in 1962 with the first state examination and in 1966 with the second state examination. He was admitted to the bar, joined the Rhineland-Palatinate state service as a government assessor and worked as a legal advisor in the local Ministry of Economics and Transport . Since 1969 he has acted as personal advisor to Minister Hanns Neubauer , since 1971 as personal advisor to Minister Heinrich Holkenbrink , most recently as government director. From 1990 to 2001 he was Secretary General of the German Red Cross (DRK).

Römer is a member of the KDSt.V. Carolus Magnus Saarbrücken in the CV .

Public offices

From 1973 to 1977, Römer was district administrator in the Daun district (now the Vulkaneifel district) and from 1977 to 1985 district administrator in the Mainz-Bingen district . From 1985 to 1987 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Forests of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate , and from 1987 to 1990 he held the same position in the Ministry of Environment and Health.
