The Ministry for the Environment, Energy, Food and Forests ( MUEEF for short ) is a supreme state authority and, in addition to the State Chancellery, one of the nine ministries of the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate . The Ministry was reorganized after the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2016 and replaced the Ministry for the Environment, Forests and Consumer Protection Rhineland-Palatinate ( MUFV ). It has its seat in the state capital Mainz .

The ministry is headed by Ulrike Höfken (Greens), she is supported by State Secretary Thomas Griese (Greens). Founded on May 23, 1985 as the Ministry of Environment and Health, the ministry received its current departmental structure when the red-yellow-green state government took office on May 18, 2016.

The Ministry is located on Kaiser-Friedrich-Strasse in Mainz, near Kaiserstrasse ( B 40 ) and the Christ Church .
