Sun in the fish pond, watercolor 1986

"Anger's pictures are unmistakable, his light reveals him, like his colors, the strong yellow, the deep blue, the violet, and his courage for the motif, which is not afraid to combine an atmospheric fish pond with the symbol of the sun [.. ..] Anger is an eminent landscape painter and watercolorist who, in keeping with Austrian tradition, often elevates the undemanding motif to the content of the picture: forest interior, snow-covered paths, cellar lanes, ponds and rivulets, decaying farmsteads [....] While the painter is at the Seeking to represent the truth in nature approaches Waldmüller's ideals, with his symbolism and impressionistic design he is closer to Van Gogh , Klimt and also Franz Wiegele "
