Heinz Baden

Heinrich (Heinz) Baden (born August 12, 1887 in Bremen ; † August 25, 1954 in Bremen- St. Magnus ) was a German painter .

biography

Baden was the son of a painter from Rotenburg (Wümme) . His father died early and so he first became a decorative painter . He attended the Staatliche Kunstgewerbeschule Bremen and completed his training in Berlin. But he also remained an autodidact as an artist . He showed his travel sketches and pictures from France, Switzerland and Germany in numerous exhibitions in major German cities. In 1910 he set up his studio in Bremen and printed his etchings there. From 1912 he was a member of the German Association of Artists . During the First World War he was a photo reporter and was taken prisoner of war.

After the war he worked as a versatile artist. In 1936 he moved to Bremen- Burglesum , St. Magnus district, to his house in Klexel . He worked with the painters Franz Radziwill , Karl Dannemann and Willy Menz in the artists' association The Green Rainbow . His Bremen etchings were well known . He created murals in the council chambers. His excellent landscapes and watercolors were initially less well known.

Honors

  • The Heinrich-Baden-Weg in Bremen- Oberneuland was named after him in 1966.
