Heinz Heckmann

Heinz Friedrich Heckmann , (born March 22, 1932 in Langenbrücken, today Bad Schönborn , † August 13, 2012 ), was a German administrative specialist and politician of the CDU .

education and profession

Heckmann attended high school in Bruchsal , where he graduated from high school in 1950. Then he trained to become a high-level non-technical administrative service until 1953. He then worked for the Karlsruhe regional council and the Bruchsal district office. In 1961 he became district treasurer in the Bruchsal district. He held this office in the district of Karlsruhe after the district reform in 1973 .

Political activity

He became politically active early on in the CDU, where he first rose to the position of chairman in the district, later in the district, and was also a member of the Baden-Württemberg state board of the CDU. In 1972, Heckmann was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for the first time , to which he was a member until 1992. In 1978 he was given the office of parliamentary director of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg.

In 1980, Prime Minister Lothar Späth brought him into the state government and assigned him the office of Political State Secretary , that is, without a seat and a vote in the cabinet, in the Ministry of Finance under Minister Guntram Palm . Heckmann held this office after the state elections in 1984 and 1988. In September 1989, Heckmann resigned from his position. His successor was Eugen Volz .

Heckmann then took over a position at Südwestdeutsche Salzwerke AG in Heilbronn until 1996 .

Other offices, honors and awards

In addition to his political activities, Heckmann was also involved in the cultural field. For a long time he was President of the State Association of Music Schools in Baden-Württemberg, of which he is Honorary President today. He was also a member of the board of directors of the International Music School Academy and Culture Center Schloss Kapfenburg in Lauchheim . Heckmann was also instrumental in founding the International University in Germany non-profit GmbH in Bruchsal.

In 1978 he received the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany, and in 1983 the Cross of Merit 1st Class. In 2002, he was Prime Minister Erwin Teufel , the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg awarded.

Family and private

Heckmann was married to Ursula, nee Dorwarth, and had two daughters.
