Heinz Hoefer (born December 26, 1915 in Berlin ; † September 27, 2013 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Hoefer joined the SPD in 1930. After being captured by the Soviets, he returned to Berlin. From 1949 to 1955 he was a member of the Steglitz district council and since 1951 chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

From 1955 to 1971 Hoefer was city councilor for construction and housing in the Steglitz district office. From 1965 to 1971 he was also the district mayor of Berlin-Steglitz . Afterwards he was chairman of the board of Ideal insurance . In 1970 he received the Cross of Merit First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Until his death, Hoefer was the oldest still active member of the party.

Heinz Hoefer died on September 27, 2013 at the age of 97. The funeral service took place on October 14, 2013. The burial took place in the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend .
