Heinz-Josef Thissen

Heinz-Josef Thissen (born March 13, 1940 in Neuss ; † July 25, 2014 in Erftstadt ) was a German Egyptologist .

Life

After graduating as Dr. phil. in Cologne 1965 and habilitation there in 1985 he became professor in Marburg in 1990 and in Cologne in 1992. Since 1994 he has been a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences and Literature and a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute .
