Heinz Koch (born April 3, 1947 ) is a former German soccer player . From 1969 to 1971, the defensive player at Rot-Weiss Essen played five games in the Bundesliga .
Career
In 1969, Koch moved from BV Altenessen to the Bundesliga for city neighbor Rot-Weiss Essen . The defensive player made his debut on matchday 7 of the 1969/70 season in an away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern , it ended 0-0. His first game in front of a home crowd on Hafenstrasse also ended 0-0 eight days later, in the game Koch was substituted on in the 69th minute by coach Herbert Burdenski . He lost his third and last game of the season on October 15, 1969 with 1: 4 goals at Borussia Dortmund. He couldn't get past players like Wolfgang Rausch , Heinz Stauvermann and Peter Czernotzky in defense . In the following season he completed two more games in the upper house of German football in the first half of the season against Hannover 96 and Arminia Bielefeld. After relegation to the West Regional Football League , Koch was again in six games in the 1971/72 season when he reached the runner-up with 113:37 goals. Under coach János Bédl, the main line-up of the defense was mostly Czernotzky, Rausch, Hermann Erlhoff , Stauvermann and Roland Peitsch . Koch played his last regional league game on April 1, 1972 in a 5-0 away win against VfL Klafeld. In 1972 he moved to Hamborn 07 .
Koch was active on the board of his former Rot-Weiss Essen association for years.
