Live and act

The merchant's son studied medicine at the University of Heidelberg from 1948, which he graduated with a doctorate in 1952 . Then Dr. med. Liesendahl worked as an assistant doctor at Heidelberg's University Children's Clinic from 1953 to 1957 before changing his profession. The Stuttgarter went to the Süddeutscher Rundfunk , where he initially worked for the Abendschau and was promoted to assistant director in 1959.

Since 1961, starting with a revue with Johannes Heesters as the focus, Liesendahl has shot a wealth of entertainment shows for Bavaria-Atelier GmbH in Munich, but also staged ballets and operas. As early as 1967 he received the Golden Camera (for “Playboy-Playgirl-Playtime”) for his achievements in this field . Liesendahl made famous, however, above all his collaboration in the 1970s with star comedians Dieter Hallervorden ( Nonstop Nonsense ) and Jürgen von Manger ( Tegtmeier's Travels ). Liesendahl also collaborated with other greats in show business, including Sammy Davis junior , Senta Berger , John Cranko , Theo Lingen , Peter Weck as well as the cabaret artist Gerhard Polt and the travesty duo Mary & Gordy . Excursions into classic television film directing such as in 1977 with Graf Yoster are honored remained the absolute exception. After a birthday portrait for von Manger, Liesendahl retired into private life in 1993.
