Heinz Plate
Heinz Plate (born May 28, 1914 in Dresden , † 2005 in Bischofswiesen ) was a German actor and singer ( baritone ).
Life
Plate, the son of a singing teacher, completed an acting training at the Dresden State Theater under Georg Krisau after attending commercial school from 1934 to 1937 . His father also trained him to be a singer.
Theater engagements in Ulm, Meiningen, Hagen and Gera followed. During the second war he was in the military and was occasionally on leave for individual appearances.
After the war he was in Dresden, Graz, at the Deutsche Kammerspiele Santiago de Chile , at the Hamburger Kammerspiele , in the Komödie im Marquardt in Stuttgart, in Frankfurt, at the Münchner Kammerspiele , at the Düsseldorfer Kammerspiele , at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich , in Linz and at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in Berlin.
From 1953, Plate occasionally took on roles in film and television. He played in Martin Hellberg's DEFA thriller Secret Files Solvay , in Frank Wisbar's war drama Dogs, Do You Want to Live Forever, and took over guest roles in television series such as Secret Agent Tegtmeier , The Fifth Column , Alarm in the Mountains and On the Green Beach of the Spree .
In 1961 he was a partner of Lilian Harvey on her stage debut in Germany at the Heidelberger Zimmertheater .
