Heinz Schall

Caspar Heinz Schall (born October 4, 1872 in Cologne ; † unknown) was a German actor and film director .

Life

The Dr. phil. PhD Schall initially worked as a singer and actor in various theaters. In 1898 he got his first permanent engagement in Essen , after that he played in Reval in 1901/02 , in St. Gallen in 1902/03 , in Neustrelitz in 1903/04 , in Ulm in 1905/06 , in Kaiserslautern in 1906/07 , in Vienna in 1908/09 and in Poznan in 1909/10 .

In 1910 he came to Berlin , where he was part of the ensemble of the Thalia Theater there. During the First World War he was temporarily drafted into military service. During the war he directed his first silent film Im Lebenswirbel with Asta Nielsen . He was best known for the Asta Nielsen film Hamlet , which he directed together with the Dane Svend Gade .
