Heinz Schmiedel

Heinz Schmiedel (born February 14, 1927 in Oberwiesenthal ; † December 3, 1978 in Unterföhring ) was a German dancer and choreographer .

Live and act

Schmiedel began his artistic career in 1945 as a solo dancer at the Cologne city stage . In 1954 he went to Hamburg , where he worked in the same position at the State Opera . In his young years he danced the following stage characters, among others: the prince in The Firebird , Pulcinella , the Mohr in Petrushka , the Laertes in Hamlet and Cinderella .

Immediately after moving to the Hanseatic city, Schmiedel was brought in front of the camera. He made his debut as an actor in a movie, but in the following years he mainly worked as a dancer and choreographer and in this role was responsible for the dance design of an abundance of entertainment shows. Schmiedel also supervised opera productions.

Since June 1958, Heinz Schmiedel was married to his colleague Maria Litto for the second time . He died suddenly of a heart attack.
