Heinz Vieweg (born June 23, 1920 in Dresden ) is a German writer .

Life

A physicist by profession, he lives as a freelance author in Senzig near Berlin. He wrote books for young people and science fiction . In it he conveys a predominantly technical optimism for the future. As one of the first SF authors in the GDR , Heinz Vieweg also drew attention to the fact that basic human values ​​should not fall victim to the acceleration of progress.

His first science fiction novel Ultrasymet stays secret from 1960 is about the discovery of the super material Ultrasymet, which can be made from crystals found in the Algerian desert. Ultrasymet is far superior to steel and the large steel groups are trying by all means to prevent the production of Ultrasymet and also resort to means such as sabotage and political intrigue.
