Heinz Walter Florin

Heinz Walter Florin (born March 18, 1965 in Bonn ) is a German conductor , composer , arranger and pianist .

Life

He received his first piano lessons from his father at the age of five. At the age of twelve he first drew attention to himself as a piano soloist and song accompanist in the Bonn area.

After graduating from high school, in 1985 he began studying music in the subject of artistic maturity and instrumental pedagogy for piano with Hans Giesen at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. After further piano studies with Vitaly Margulis in Freiburg, he completed his piano training in the master class of Viktor Merzhanov (Moscow). In 1995 his first piano solo CD with opera fantasies by Franz Liszt was released on the Villa Artis label.

Heinz Walter Florin began his conducting career in 1994 when he studied at the Maastricht Academy of Music, which ended with a diploma in orchestral conducting. During this time he made his first theater experiences as a répétiteur and deputy choir director at the Bonn Opera . He took part in master classes with conductors such as Jorma Panula . During this time he also directed many rehearsals for soloists and choirs for WDR opera productions, which received prizes from the record review.

Services

Under Florin's direction there were concerts, radio and film music recordings with the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn , the WDR Rundfunkorchester Cologne , the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra , the Württemberg Philharmonic Reutlingen , with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and many other orchestras, choirs as well as vocal and instrumental soloists.

Since 1998 he has directed the Bonn chamber choir Collegium Cantandi and since 2000 the Deutz Choir Cologne.

In 2007 he became chief conductor of the Elblandfestspiele Wittenberge in co-production with RBB television and the “ Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg ” orchestra .

From 2012 he will lead the newly founded “Jacques Offenbach Orchester Köln”.

Heinz Walter Florin has been active as a composer and arranger since 1995. Since 2012, his orchestral work “The girl with the sulfur woods” has been published by the Hamburg-based Sikorski music publisher . In 2003 his symphonic poem "Symphonie in kölsch" premiered in the Cologne Philharmonic, which was also co-produced by WDR. He writes the arrangements for CD productions and radio broadcasts of the BBC, WDR, NDR, RBB, ZDF, as well as for large film and musical gala evenings and orchestrated and conducted award-winning television and cinema productions such as " The Miracle of Lengede " (SAT1), " The sinking of the Pamir "(ARD) and" The little Dodo "(Warner Bros.)
